JES DataGateway will allow the ability to send data from the mainframe via TCP/IP printing protocols, which includes encryption and compression of the data prior to transmission allowing greater security and faster download. JES DataGateway supports JES2 and JES3 and has been enhanced to provide AFP support and integration of ACIF.
All JES control information is passed to NearStar’s DataServer Enterprise Output Management Solution to help control jobs based on specific parameters. The seamless integration of these two products allows updates to the user interface with job-related information so operators can quickly identify how to set up the printers based on the job Form and job Class.
JES DataGateway will seamlessly integrate into NearStar’s current positioned flagship product, DataServer, which allows centralized job management to any output medium including printers, email, fax, archival and related systems.
With DataServer 6.1 release, you will be able to specify the following:
- Securing the access using HTTPS protocols
- Encrypted Spooling of data files received to protect the incoming data as it resides on DataServer
- Defining which queues will utilize DataServer’s integrated
- Encrypted Spool modules
- Support for transmission of sensitive data to other locations using DataServer’s Secure LPR/LPD protocols
- Support for Centralized access controls using LDAP LCDS Resource Management
- Disaster Recovery Configuration
These new modules carry the same features as other Output Modules developed by NearStar such as:
- Work-Selection Criteria using Forms, Class, PDL Type, Job Sizing, etc.
- Device Fail-Over
- Pre-Processing event driven scripting
- Cluster Printing-Attaching multiple OM’s to 1 or more queues
- Load-Balancing jobs between multiple OM’s attached to multiple Queues
