NearStar provided Texas A M with their robust job management solution called DataServer. The job management functionality to “leash” one job at a time to the printer made job recovery and load balancing extremely easy.
NearStar provided Stanford University with DataServer to handle the job management and data enhancement of ‘header/trailer’ pages in the correct PDL format for the job. The solution was able to facilitate the Unix Job submission requirements as well as provide the ability to manage these jobs without manual intervention.
NearStar provided a solution to migrate PPS’s existing Delphax printing architectures to support Xerox using VIPP. NearStar provided LA Revenue with DataServer running on a Windows NT 4.0 based platform with native support for Barr’s Channel-out PCI adapter cards. The OEM Channel adapter from Barr allowed DataServer to support the connectivity requirements defined by LA Revenue.
NearStar provided Countrywide with a High-Availability/Fault-Tolerant configuration of DataServer to replace all of the Solimar's Print Directors and the intermediate print server. Part of the configuration included elimination of the channel interfaces to the Xerox DP2K 180 printers and reformatting of the data to utilize Ethernet with TCP/IP print protocols.
