In the process to find a systems integrator who offers cost-effective solutions that are scalable, extensible and flexible, FORTUNE 500 Companies recognize the value in the decision to go with NearStar for Print-On-Demand workflow.
Discussions regarding our project began several years before the organization was ready to proceed. It was clear that NearStar was knowledgeable, thorough and extremely diligent in its approach to working through our process.
NearStar was engaged by a mid west insurance company to provide industry best practices while being able to manage and track the workflow for time critical Print-on-Demand (POD) materials that were initiated by its field agents through a web-based ordering system.
The solution relied upon an internal job-ticket creation and submission process by the customer as a facility to initiate and enable the internal POD workflow. As an Enterprise Output Management platform, NearStar DataServer provided the flexibility to fully integrate with the client’s in-house printing operations infrastructure without disruption
Collaborating with the customer's development team, NearStar was able to co-develop a print-centric data structure based on business requirements along with the ability to provide a means to track each job from start to finish with NearStar's ATOM software.
NearStar ATOM (Accounting Tracking Operations Manager) is designed to consolidate statistical data in a single interface as jobs move through the various workflow stages. Business requirements drive ATOM so that customers can be informed on the progress of each job and make adjustments to meet critical Service Level Agreements (SLA) on a job-by-job basis.
With the work order and job-ticket system and NearStar’s DataServer and ATOM are able work together by exchanging data in a variety of formats. The customer benefits from this by not having to adopt foreign processes and adhering to a vendor’s data requirements.
In cooperation and guidance from NearStar, the customer developed and implemented a workflow process manager that generates work orders or job-tickets that instruct NearStar’s DataServer Enterprise Output Management solution how to manage and process the requested order.
The solution called for a process to generate job-tickets and append them with the printer print stream. To broker the information, DataServer processed the information, mapped instructions to a job-attributes database and created a dynamic workflow based on the customer requirements as defined in the work order.
From day one, NearStar was able to join the team assembled at the customer's mid west headquarters, roll up its sleeves and get to work.
“Because we we’re willing to conduct an on-going on-site assessment than spanned several years, the customer may have felt like we a true partner who is willing to invest just as much energy and effort into this project as they had. We were comfortable working within the team structure and felt that it was a true collaborate effort.”NearStar was engaged by a mid west insurance company to provide industry best practices while being able to manage and track the workflow for time critical Print-on-Demand (POD) materials that were initiated by its field agents through a web-based ordering system.
